COVID-19 Safety

All visits and shows have appropriate safety measures in place to help prevent the spread of coronvirus and other infections.

The planetarium represents a partly-enclosed and partly-ventilated space. As such, the following measures are in place during our shows:

  • Ventilation - the planetarium is held up by a fan that blows air from the surrounding room/hall continuously into the dome. Air exits the dome through outlet vents.  The fan is set to low power during shows but a blast of high power is set between shows to refresh the air inside. For longer shows, half-time air-refresh may be appropriate. A small air-purifier unit is also used, also set to low power during shows, but blasted at high power in between.

  • Face coverings - we will comply with any and all of your venues policies on mask wearing. In school settings, we are happy to present in a mask and will provide masks for the children if required.

  • Vaccination - your presenter is triple vaccinated against COVID-19

  • Sanitising - hand-sanitiser is available and the audience is encouraged to use it before entering the dome. The floorspace is sanitised at regular intervals.

  • Testing - your presenter will take a lateral flow test in the 24 hours before visiting you. The result will be shared with you via the email address you provide when booking. If the test is positive, your visit will be rescheduled and all isolation protocols followed.

Is your COVID-19 Risk Assessment Available?

Yes. Our COVID-19 Risk Assessments is available upon request when you enquire about your booking. The general risk assessment for planetarium shows it also available. Please contact us for more information.
