Beauty and Wonder
Nursery and EYFS
Let’s adventure inside the planetarium and watch the stars come out! We’ll play dot-to-dot with the stars, tell some stories, and journey into outer space!
Duration: 20-40 min (with 10-30 min inside the planetarium)
The Sun, the Moon, the Stars!
First Level
How do we know when to get up or go to bed? What are days and months and years? Why are some years a day longer? Together we’ll explore how the Earth, the Sun and the Moon move – and we’ll watch the patterns in the stars change with the seasons.
Duration: 40-60 min (depending on visit schedule)
A Journey through Space and Time!
Second Level
Light is the fastest thing known to science, but it still takes time to travel from A to B! Starting with Earth’s neighbours in the Solar System, we work our way ever outward, ever onward until we reach the end of the known Universe. On the way we’ll encounter moons, planets, stars, galaxies, black holes and more!
Duration: 40-60 minutes (depending on visit schedule)
Our Place in the Universe
Third and Fourth Level
How can we use science to learn about the Universe? By knowing a little bit about how light behaves we can figure out a lot about stars and galaxies. By engineering precise equipment, we can develop better telescopes and build probes to land on other worlds. And by sending humans into space we can conduct experiments in microgravity!
